The Pedrolounge invites a small number of dancing cactus connoisseurs into a private home aka The Far Side on the outskirts of Barrydale, but can also become a mobile unit and visit other people’s living rooms.
The idea is to provide a full plant medicine weekend at reasonable contributions, unfortunately many ceremonial celebrations and retreats are off limits to people struggling in these economically challenging times. The majority of facilitators living in the metropolitan areas often need to hire venues out of town for their retreats, thus half the contributions are allocated to accommodation and rental.
The Far Side has a large garden with ample camping space, a small 2-3 sleeper cabin, 3 caravans and a teepee (not ready for occupation yet), none of these can be booked in advance, due to spontaneous travellers or friends, but are available on 1st come 1st serve.
The Barrydale Pedrolounge envisions the following flow :
- People arriving on Friday are encouraged to eat out at the local restaurants
- Saturday 9-10h00 Breakfast at The Far Side
- 11am serving of Huachumedicina
- Dance & Movement all day long, in the lounge, on the deck or the lawn
- Throughout the day, some healthy & wholesome snacks are available
- Around sunset or 20h00, dinner will be provided, i.e. stew, potjie, curry or pasta
- At 21h30 we prepare for SOMA frequencies, the inner dance
- We journey into the night
- Sunday late breakfast
- Optional and depending on the weather, in winter the hot springs at Warmwaterberg or cooling down at the Tradouw Pass on hot summer sundays
